It’s hard to believe that 16 years ago when the Seabreeze Jazz Festival was in its infancy, it could easily fit within Seaside’s intimate amphitheater with plenty of room to spare for dancing barefoot in the grass. Now this highly successful event is one of the area’s longest running festivals and draws more than 20,000 jazz lovers from across the globe.
The countdown to this year’s much-anticipated “Sweet Sixteen” Seabreeze Jazz Festival held April 24-27, is almost over. Once again, the main stage of Panama City Beach’s spectacular state-of-the-art Aaron Bessant Park located adjacent to Pier Park will feature an all-star, award-winning lineup.
The Ultimate Weekend of Smooth Jazz kicks-off Thursday, April 24 at 6pm with performances by these stellar musicians: local saxophonist sensation Michael J. Thomas, singer/guitarist Nick Colionne and headliner Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.
On Friday, August 25, long-time favorites Jones & Company get the party started at 6pm followed by Eric Darius, Jonathan Butler, Norman Brown and Alex Bugnon.
On Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 wake-up and get your groove on early. Festival gates open each day at 9 am and the music starts by 11am and keeps you jazzed throughout the day and evening with one star-studded concert after another. Saturday’s sizzling ensemble features: Vincent Ingala & Jonathan Fritze’n, Chieli Minnuci & Special EFX, Brian Culbertson, Will Downing, Mindi Abair, Dave Koz, Richard Elliott and Gerald Albright.
Day 4, April 27 is smooth and easy like Sunday morning and continues non-stop with this stellar line-up of top-notch musicians: “Generation Next” featuring: Nicolas Cole, Julian Vaughn, Lin Rountree & Lebron; trumpeter Cindy Bradley, the sounds of Jazz Funk Soul” with: Chuck Loeb, Jeff Larber & Everette Harp; The original Family Stone, and an unforgettable grand finale by the Seabreeze Smooth Jazz All-stars: Brian Simpson, Kim Waters, Phil Perry and Maysa.

In addition, smooth jazz fans can receive FREE TICKETS to the event by donating a good used band instrument to L.I.N.K.S. of Northwest Florida. “Lonely Instruments for Needy Kids” is a not-for-profit organization that accepts used band instruments, repairs them, and then makes them available to students in Northwest Florida who would not be able to participate due the financial burden of either buying or renting an band instrument. Playground Music Center in Panama City and Ft. Walton Beach is collecting the instruments for the event.
