We want to welcomeÂ Heem K. Chee who has recently joined The Resort Collection as vice president of food and beverage. In his new position, Chee will oversee all operations for banquets, bars, and eateries throughout all of The Resort Collectionâ€™s properties.

Prior to joining The Resort Collection, Chee served as vice president of food and beverage, and resort executive chef for the 2,400-acre SandestinÂ® Golf and Beach Resort where he oversaw all aspects of food services. In his position as vice president of food and beverage, he directed a management staff of fifteen while overseeing a total seasonal staff of more than 300 throughout the resortâ€™s banquets, restaurants, and clubs. As resort executive chef, Chee was intricately involved in every detail of each culinary department to ensure the highest quality food preparation and cost-effective production.
Cheeâ€™s culinary expertise has been harnessed through his more than three decades of industry experience working for top hospitality brands in the U.S., Canada, and the Bahamas. Chee began his culinary career at the Four Seasons Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada as Chef de Partie. He then moved on to the popular Cable Beach Hotel in Nassau, Bahamas where he quickly worked his way up to senior sous chef. Chee continued building a strong professional track record as executive chef at numerous high profile hotels and resorts throughout the United States. As executive chef for the Renaissance Seattle Hotel, he managed the entire culinary department of a 560-room hotel with two onsite restaurants and a full-scale catering operation.

A native of Malaysia, Chee holds a Professional Cookâ€™s certificate from the Alberta Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Board in Canada. He resides in Miramar Beach, Florida with his wife, Rose, and sons, Jonathan and Joshua.
