Rock & Roll Transit is opening a store front in Pier Park on Friday, July 1 for visitors to store their luggage should they need a place prior to check in or after check out. The hours will be the same as Pier Park operating hours which are 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Satruday and 12 noon – 6 p.m. on Sunday.   They also have a pick up and drop off in Pier Park in front of their store front which is next door to Shimmering Seas and across from Guy Harvey’s on the south end of the shopping district.

Gulf World Marine Park is proud to announce the arrival of a two year old male bottlenose dolphin named Roux. National Marine Fishers Services has selected Gulf World Marine Park for the placement of his new home.

Roux was rescued in Grand Isle Louisiana on January 29, 2011. He had multiple skin lacerations and trauma to his body.  The Stranding team at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas has rehabilitated him for the past six months.  He was deemed un-releasable by National Marine Fishers Services due to his age and absence of survival skills.

Our Gulf World team traveled to New Orleans to transport him to Panama City Beach. Roux handled the 7 hour trip very well and after a short quarantine period he was placed in the Main Dolphin Habitat at Gulf World Marine Park. He currently is being socialized with a nine year old female bottlenose dolphin named Indie and will be introduced to other dolphins in the coming weeks. We are looking forward to him becoming a great addition to our dolphin family and will be a part of our educational programs.
