New Addition Inviting for Sushi Beginners and Aficionados Alike!

Firefly Restaurant, located in the Shoppes at Edgewater and managed by The Resort Collection of Panama City Beach, is thrilled to announce the newest addition to the restaurant. To further expand on their award-winning culinary offerings, Firefly will open a brand-new sushi bar in March of 2013.

“We’re excited to bring something different to the Firefly family,” says Dave Trepanier, owner of Firefly. “Sushi continues to grow in popularity, and we see more and more of our guests heading down the healthier path and choosing this alternative. This new sushi bar will not only offer a different dining experience to our guests, but a hip scene where people will want to gather after the main dining room is closed.”

Firefly’s acclaimed sushi has always been prepared in the kitchen, but Trepanier says that “true sushi aficionados want to see the artistry of the sushi chef and interact with him.” Guests will be able to dine at the sushi bar, which will seat ten, and be a part of the action with their sushi chef.

“I’m challenging my sushi chefs – and our guests, for that matter – to come up with new and innovative rolls or ideas,” says Trepanier. “I want guests to see the dining experience as both enjoyable and educational. Some sushi beginners have a fear of raw fish; I once had that same fear. Now, I consider sushi a delicacy. Once you get over the fear of eating something raw, it truly opens you up to another culinary world. I plan on bringing in many more exotic fish to experiment with.”

As well as the seating at the sushi bar, the new addition will offer four booths and six high top tables for a total capacity of 70 people. Four new private rooms will also be added to accommodate groups of eight to 30 with full HD A/V capabilities – perfect for meetings or parties. With so much additional space at Firefly, Trepanier plans to offer more wine dinners, cocktail parties and cooking classes.

The new sushi bar will offer a different vibe to the Firefly atmosphere. “The music in the sushi bar will be a little more current and youthful,” Trepanier says. “Everything from country favorites – Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith and Zac Brown – to classic and hard rock acts like Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones and Van Halen. We’ll also have this staying open later than the main dining room during the spring and summer so people can have a cool place to gather and hang out.”

The Firefly sushi bar is anticipated to open in March. To reserve a table at Firefly or receive more information, please call 850-249-3359 (FFLY) or visit //www.FireflyPCB.com.
