To keep your wallet happy, we’ve laid out the five best, completely free things to do in Panama City Beach.

Get Some Sun

All 27 miles of the Panama City Beach coastline is free and open to the public for sandcastle building, snorkeling, and sunbathing. Pack a cooler, bring an umbrella or small tent, and take the family for a day full of clear emerald water, sugar white sand, and sunshine that lasts well into the evening. Be sure to pack up your things when it’s time to head home. We have a strict “leave only footprints” ordinance that prohibits anything being left unattended on the beach between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Other than that, enjoy yourself on the World’s Most Beautiful Beaches!

Become One With Nature
For all the nature buffs out there, the Panama City Beach Conservation Park offers an abundance of outdoor recreation possibilities and is absolutely free to the public. The Conservation Park comprises 24 miles of trails over 2,900 acres, and over a mile of boardwalks that lead through Cypress domes. Trails are available at all different levels of intensity as well ranging anywhere from 0.6 miles up to 11 miles in distance. Did we mention the amazing wildlife you will see? Be sure to pack your binoculars and camera to capture shots of birds, deer, and much more.

Adjacent to Pier Park is Aaron Bessant Park, a 70-acre park that has abundant room for walking and playing with your dog. There are even specialty trash cans and garbage bags for easy clean-up and disposal for when nature calls. Does your pet love to swim? Good news! The only pet-friendly beach is just a quick walk down to the City Pier—located directly in front of Pier Park.

Watch An Epic Sunset
Florida is famous for its beach sunsets. There is something about the melding colors of yellow, orange and red that reflect off the glassy water that make you step back and want to take things a little slower. This probably tops our list of free things to do in Panama City Beach since you will never see the same sunset twice, making it a truly unique moment in time and a memory that will last forever. Find your perfect spot on the beach, bring your beverage of choice and a beach chair or blanket, and get ready for an unforgettable view that never seems to get old. We’re serious—they never get old!
