During the days following Michael, our employees displayed extraordinary strength and dedication to Resort Collection, putting their personal needs second to the company. We saw them show up for work the day following the storm, when lines of communication were nonexistent, to help in any way they could. We are in awe of their commitment to our owners in the midst of devastation.
There is one employee we feel went particularly above and beyond for our owners and that deserves recognition for her selflessness.
Being a Resort Collection employee for the past 10 years, Cathy started as an Assistant Controller and was then promoted to Finance Manager, eventually earning her title and role as Financial Analyst Director. She suffered great personal damage to her home and belongings in Panama City, Florida, due to the destruction of Hurricane Michael. Regardless of her own obstacles and recovery work, she never let that defeat her spirit and giving attitude that makes her the hardworking and invaluable team member that she is.
With the internet, Verizon service, phones, and computers all down, Cathy still found it important to do right by our owners and give them the service they deserve. She hopped into her truck and drove to Dothan, Alabama, to a bank branch to ensure all our owners received their September ACH payments on time. This was the nearest and most accessible location for Cathy as most roads in Bay County were impassible due to debris and fallen trees.
We want to thank Cathy for not only her dedication to Resort Collection and our owners, but her will to never let her own circumstances get in the way of getting the job done when it is needed.
