Hosted by Bay Point Marina, the Second Annual Grand Lagoon Christmas Boat Parade draws boats and spectators from around the area, and will be held on Saturday, December 3rd. There is no charge for participation and the event is open to the public. On Saturday, December 3, Grand Lagoon area merchants will once again join forces to host their annual Grand Lagoon Christmas Boat Parade. Now in its second year, the parade gives local boat owners a chance to show off their holiday spirit by decorating their vessels and gives spectators an opportunity to join the fun at several viewing areas along the parade route. Participating boats will depart Bay Point Marina shortly after sunset and journey through the loop at the west end of Grand Lagoon. Boats will pass in front of the Boatyard restaurant, Lighthouse Marina, Captain Anderson’s, Treasure Island Marina, Pirates Cove Marina and 30 Degree Blue before returning back to Bay Point. A panel of celebrity judges will be on hand at the Boatyard, and prizes will be awarded in various categories, including Most Patriotic, Most Outlandish and Best Overall, among others. Judging will begin at approximately 6:30pm. After the parade, participants will return to Bay Point Marina for an awards presentation and after party at 30 Degree Blue. Spectators are encouraged to come out and support the decorated boats at Captain Andersons, Pirates Cove Marina, Treasure Island Marina, Lighthouse Marina or take advantage of the exceptional viewing areas at the Boatyard and 30 Degree Blue. There is no charge to participate, and all parade boats will receive complimentary weekend dockage at Bay Point Marina.
