This weekend, on March 27th, our community will be celebrating the Annual Blessing of the Fleet, a traditional maritime event that takes place at most ports, such as Panama City, with large sea-going populations. Religious representatives will ask for God’s blessing for those who make their living from the sea and pray for continued safe passage of all vessels. The Stainless Steel and Calypso bands will provide musical entertainment throughout the day and the U.S. Coast Guard will provide a flyover as we stand for the pledge and national anthem. This is a wonderful spectator event and a great day on the water! Make your plans to come out to the Panama City Marina and view the vessels and participate in the blessing of the fleet this weekend. The Blessing of the Fleet will benefit Second Chance of Northwest Florida, Inc., a local not-for profit organization that serves the needs of adults with brain injuries and their families in Bay County. Come out and be a part of this special event!
